Main Street Paws — an online directory for independently-owned veterinary and pet services.
Main Street Paws started with a simple frustration: it has become almost impossible to tell who actually owns your vet clinic. The name on the door stays the same, the people in the lobby are as kind as ever — but more and more often, the business behind them belongs to a national consolidator.
We think pet owners deserve to know, and independent owners deserve to be found. So we built the directory we wished existed: every veterinary clinic listed here is verified privately owned, every listing is free, and the little guys get the spotlight for once.
We’re a small, independent team ourselves — no venture fund, no pet-industry parent company. The site is paid for the honest way: clinics can choose an optional premium listing, and local pet businesses buy simple monthly ads. The verified badge is never for sale.
What we believe
- Local money should stay local. When you pay an independent clinic, you’re paying your neighbor — not a quarterly earnings call.
- Trust is earned with receipts. Every “verified independent” badge has a human-reviewed evidence trail behind it.
- Free means free. No clinic will ever pay to be listed, and paying never buys the badge.
